Our Staff

Lydia Kihm is the Executive Director. She is a graduate of Ohio University and spent 15 years in management, marketing and marketing research. Before joining Teens Alone in 1997, she was Volunteer and Development Director at Person to Person in Minneapolis.

Kathy Dixon is the Program Director and a licensed professional counselor. She received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling & Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University and is pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Psychology at Capella University. Kathy has 6 years of administrative experience and over 12 years of experience working with children and families in numerous community based settings.

Wendy Epstein is a licensed social worker. She received her bachelor’s degree from the College of St. Catherine, and is completing her clinical research paper for her master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas. Before joining Teens Alone, Wendy was a youth and family counselor at Face to Face Health & Counseling in St. Paul. She also worked for Hennepin County’s Crisis Intervention Center and is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Ruby Tolbert is a Teens Alone’s Case Manager and Counselor. She received her master’s degree from Chicago State University and completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work at Minnesota State University Mankato. Ruby has several years of experience working in diverse urban and rural communities.

Sarah Granger is a licensed Social Worker. She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Minnesota, and her undergraduate degree in social work from Metropolitan State University. Sarah has more than 10 years experience working with youth and their families in school and community settings.

Ryan Lewsader is Teens Alone Case Manager. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Minnesota and is currently in the University of Minnesota’s Masters of Social Work Program. Ryan has three years of case management experience with children and youth who have endured long-term homeless.

Rachel Norman is Teens Alone’s Administrative Assistant. Her background includes 20 years working with nonprofits in operations, finances and staff support.
