Our Staff

Program Staff

Kathy Dixon  is Program Director and a licensed professional counselor. She received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling & Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University and is pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Psychology at Capella University. Kathy has 6 years of administrative experience and more than 12 years of experience working with children and families in numerous community-based settings.

Sarah Granger is Senior Counselor and a Licensed Graduate Social Worker. She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Minnesota and her undergraduate degree in social work from Metropolitan State University. Sarah has more than 10 years of experience working with youth and their families in school and community settings.

Amanda Bacon-Dwinell is a Teens Alone Counselor. She received her master of arts degree in counseling and psychological services from Saint Mary’s University.  Amanda has more than 13 year’s experience working with young adults and their families in hospital and community settings.

Sarah Klouda is a Teens Alone’s Case Manager. She received her master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Youth Development and Leadership and completed her undergraduate degree in Child Psychology and Youth Studies. Sarah has over 13 years of experience working with youth in diverse communities.

Lawrence Nutter is a Teens Alone Counselor. He received his master’s degree of Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary’s University. His undergraduate degree is in Psychology and Theater Arts. Lawrence’s counseling experience includes working with individuals, couples and families.

Roslyn Wright is the Case Manager for Teens Alone’s new TLP/Scattered Site Program. She has a bachelor of science degree in Allied Health. Roslyn has extensive experience working with homeless families including short term emergency shelter and transitional housing.

We are also delighted to introduce two interns who will be working with us this school year:

Amie DeHarpporte is a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at St. Mary’s University. She is a counselor/intern at Teens Alone as part of the practicum requirement for completion of her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services at St. Mary’s. Amie was a middle school and high school Social Studies teacher for 15 years.

Shelly Bohmert is completing her masters degree in counseling and psychology from St. Mary’s University. Shelly has two years of experience working with teens, young adults and families.  She is pursuing licensure for alcohol and drug counseling.

Administrative Staff

Lydia Kihm is the Executive Director. She is a graduate of Ohio University and spent 15 years in management, marketing and marketing research. Before joining Teens Alone in 1997, she was Volunteer and Development Director at Person to Person in Minneapolis.

Rachel Norman is Teens Alone’s Administrative Assistant. Her background includes 20 years working with nonprofits in operations, finances and staff support.
